PassiveLogic CEO Troy Harvey will be presenting at the annual ACEC Coalition Summer Meeting in Salt Lake City on Thursday, August 4th.

The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) is a national engineering association headquartered in Washington, D.C. The ACEC is organized as a federation of 52 state and regional councils and represents over 600,000 engineers, architects, land surveyors, and similar specialists. The association’s “primary mission is to strengthen the business environment for [its] member firms through government advocacy, political actions, and business education.” The association’s advocacy efforts benefit a wide scope of engineers across varying fields — and are promoted through events held across the country.

Hosted by ACEC Utah, the Coalition Summer Meeting 2022 will provide networking opportunities, interactive roundtables, and educational sessions for the greater Salt Lake City engineering community. The event will additionally include a presentation on recent renovations to the 120-year-old Salt Lake Temple and a scheduled visit from Utah Representative Blake Moore.

At the event, Troy Harvey will lead the education session “Digital Twin Technology and Its Accelerating Impact on the Engineering Industry.” An entrepreneurial technologist with over 30 years of experience in physics simulation, building science, and machine learning, Troy will discuss the power of deep digital twin technology as it relates to the design and optimization of building systems.

As CEO and Co-Founder of PassiveLogic, Troy is leading the creation of the world’s first fully autonomous control platform for buildings — a project made possible through the creation of physics-based digital twins. Troy is the chief architect of the Quantum Digital Twin Standard, a physics-based ontology that powers the PassiveLogic ecosystem.

Prior to his work with PassiveLogic, Troy was the founder and CEO of Heliocentric, a controls and energy engineering firm that worked with architects, engineers, and developers to design and build next generation high performance buildings. In that role, he recognized that high performance buildings were not living up to their promise as operational results were falling far short of engineered design criteria. He developed early concepts in physical model based control to solve this critical problem, which provided the foundation for PassiveLogic.

Troy’s education session on digital twins will take place on Thursday, August 4 from 10:30AM to 12:00PM at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center and is open to all ACEC attendees.
