EconoTimes Runs Exclusive on PassiveLogic- Teaching an Old Building New Tricks

When we think of the smart buildings of the future, the image conjured is of brand new, shiny towers with sleek architecture. The building is both pleasing to the eye and functions seamlessly to meet the needs of its occupants, without wasting energy. While the coming decades will include the construction of such buildings, it does not accurately paint the picture for what needs to happen to bring all buildings into the age of full autonomy — allowing us to meet intensified challenges in occupant wellbeing, productivity, and climate goals. The reality is that we will continue to use older buildings and infrastructure for a long time to come, even if they are inferior in terms of energy efficiency and meeting occupant needs. Some forecasts predict that the current square footage of all buildings will double by 2060 (UN Environment Report, 2017), which means even by then at least half of our building stock will be at least 40 years old (or much older). The most impactful solutions are therefore those that can be retrofitted to existing buildings as well as in new construction. PassiveLogic’s Autonomy Studio is a complete platform of tools that allows users to make any building fully autonomous — whether it is 1 or 100 years old.

EconoTimes has run an exclusive article on PassiveLogic to explore how we enable an old building to learn new tricks. Follow the link here to read about our story and how we achieve next level autonomous system solutions for buildings of all types.
